Fencing begins...

Whew! We are finally ready to start our huge fencing project! Try 6,000 linear feet of fenceline, which includes 750 tpost, 180 wooden post, 30,000 ft of barbed wire, and lots of gates!  Needless to say, it was a LARGE purchase at the farm supply store. We weren't sure if the truck and trailer were going to hold everything, but they did. Drove home all the way in 3rd gear.
Here are some pics of our loot--

Meanwhile, we've been clearing a 30' path for the fencline to go. This is one of the most important steps in building a fence, which is often overlooked in the eagerness of  getting to setting posts and stretching wire. If you don't clear a wide path, you will struggle endlessly with falling trees which cause severe damage and are just a huge headache. Just imagine spending half a day with a chainsaw and wire cutters, stomping around poison ivy to only fix about twenty feet of fence....not my favorite farm task!
So to that point, here is what fence clearing looks like!

And after--now pulling stumps and leveling out.
