PhilosophyWe are a 100% forage based system. Our animals have been born and raised on grass on our farm. We do not grain finish. The herd grazes on 100+ acres of pasture with assorted grasses, clovers, and other forages. They always have access to open pastures, fresh well water and shade tree shelter. While they aren't pets, they are treated respectfully with their welfare a top priority.
Quality in each package Our beef always comes from ONE single animal. You will never find ground beef or other cuts of multiple animals mixed together (unlike ground beef at the grocery store which comes from hundreds of different animals). We use reputable, family owned processors that are inspected by the USDA or the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

Flavor of the Land The beef we raise is flavorful, well marbled, and rich in beta carotenes. Grass finished beef has been shown to be a good source of healthy fats; the Omega-3's . Chefs have praised the "flavor profile"! Customers tell us they can taste the difference.
The Pineywoods cattle we raise are one of only several breeds of cattle on the Slow Food USA's Ark of Taste, a profile of foods which are outstanding in flavor and quality yet at risk for being lost to homogenized agriculture. Our Heritage Herefords have been raised for generations in the same family since 1946 before "grain-fed" cattle was even a common practice. Their strong forage based genetics are reflected in the delicious beef they produce in our grass fed system. |

(written out to avoid spam!) *JOINING WAITLIST does not require a deposit. Please email us your contact information and the amount (1/2 or whole) you want. Deposits will be requested once we know our availability and we will contact you then.
**We do our best to fulfill waitlist requests within 1 year, but availability can change. ***We require a deposit to secure your custom order. Once your name comes up on the waitlist, we will reach out to you with a deposit request. This secures the beef order for you. Since we harvest seasonally, we operate on a waitlist but don't let that discourage you, we can usually fill orders within one season. Because it takes 2 years to finish an animal for beef, we sometimes ask for deposits up to one year before harvest, but they are refundable up to 1 month before processing. After that they are non-refundable. At deposit time, you will receive an email link to pay your deposit online or mail us a check. |
